Certified Pool Operator Training

Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Training Options.

Course Description:  This course provides individuals with the basic knowledge, techniques, and skills of pool and spa operations.  This training helps to reduce hazards in pool facilities and in turn protects the lives swimmers.  Topics covered are: Water chemistry, testing, chemical additions & safety; Calculations for efficient operations; Preventive maintenance; Safety Considerations; Energy management; and Pool/Spa inspection/checklist.

Option 1:  Classroom Training & Examination

Schedule:  The TX DSHS recognizes several different course and exam curriculum.  The cost will vary depending on the test provider. Ensure the class you select is a recognized course.  If you need assistance contact us at (903) 535-0037.  

Registration:  Once you receive your CPO Certificate register this certificate with the NET Health Environmental Health Department.

Payment: FREE.  NET Health encourages our pool operators to take advantage of this more in depth class.  In an effort to promote this knowledge students will be exempt from the annual basic training course for the life of the CPO Certificate ( 5 years ).  We will register this certificate at no charge into the NET Health database.  

Option 2:  ONLINE Training & Examination

Online CPO Classes and exams that are approved by TX DSHS are available!!
